Kamoa Copper’s Commitment to Education and Skills Development

Publish date: 05 November 2024

Kamoa Copper is investing in the future of local communities through education and skills training. For too long, low literacy and limited opportunities have held the region back. We believe in the power of training to transform lives and uplift communities.

Our Kansoko Community Training Centre provided over 700 training opportunities in 2023, focusing on agriculture, textiles, and approximately 280 focused on adult literacy. We’re empowering individuals to thrive, whether through employment with us or starting their own businesses.

Agriculture is vital to our communities, and we’re supporting local farming initiatives. Our training helps people develop skills in maize and vegetable farming, fish and poultry farming, creating sustainable livelihoods and food security.

The Kansoko Mining Skills Training Centre is cultivating a local, qualified workforce with the skills needed to succeed in mining. We’re not just training workers – we’re developing the future leaders of the industry.

Emphasizing inclusivity, we’re actively supporting women in mining, working to increase the number of Congolese women in underground mining roles. By empowering women, we’re helping to build thriving communities.

Kamoa Copper is committed to responsible and sustainable mining. By investing in education and training, we’re creating a brighter future for the communities we serve, creating lasting positive change in the DRC.
