Ivanhoe Mines files NI 43-101 technical report for the independent pre-feasibility study for the first phase of mine development at the Kamoa Copper Project in the Democratic Republic of Congo

VANCOUVER, CANADA — Ivanhoe Mines (TSX: IVN) today announced that, further to its news release dated February 23, 2016, the company has filed a National Instrument 43-101 technical report on the independent pre-feasibility study (PFS) for the first phase of mine development of the Kamoa Copper Project in the Democratic Republic of Congo. Kamoa is a joint venture between Ivanhoe Mines and Zijin Mining Group Co., Ltd.

The Kamoa 2016 PFS was independently prepared by OreWin Pty Ltd., Amec Foster Wheeler E&C Services Inc. and SRK Consulting Inc. in accordance with the 2014 CIM definition standards, incorporated by reference into Canadian National Instrument 43-101 – Standards of Disclosure for Mineral Projects. The NI 43-101 technical report – titled Kamoa 2016 Pre-Feasibility Study – has been filed on the SEDAR website at www.sedar.com and on the Ivanhoe Mines website at www.ivanhoemines.com.
